Overview

The Adults Intensive Care Department at KFSH&RC provides advanced, 24/7 intensive care for some of the most complex and critically ill patients in the region. The unit includes our dedicated Rapid Response Team (RRT), and virtual patient monitoring across the hospital to deliver timely, patient-centered care.

Medical Intensive Care Unit

The medical ICU manages a wide range of advanced medical conditions, including genetic and metabolic diseases, oncology and hematology patients, post-bone marrow transplant care, and those receiving CAR-T cell therapy. We also provide critical support for patients requiring Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), as well as those with multi-organ failure, severe infections, and shock.

Surgical Intensive Care Unit

Our surgical ICU specializes in post-operative care for complex oncology surgeries, neurosurgery, and intricate ENT and head and neck procedures. We also manage patients following complex vascular surgery, including aortic and major vascular reconstructions, as well as high-risk surgical complications requiring intensive stabilization.
